Miss Michaela turns 2 years old--today, August 1. Hard to believe that our baby is no longer a baby. Michaela was born at 3:50 AM and came into this world with her big eyes wide open and ready to dive right into her life with us. Rodney and I joked that when she was born, we swore she was looking around to find her 2 big sisters so she could play with them.
We sometimes refer to Michaela as Curious George---she is curious almost to a fault and she climbs on EVERYTHING like a little monkey. We have found her on top of things such as: a kitchen counter, our stove top, her changing table. She can unfold 3 drawers full of folded clothes in about a minute. She likes to sit in the dogs' big water dish. She has come close to wiggling out of her car seat while we have been driving on a highway. She mastered getting out of her high chair, straps and all, by the time she was 1. She has even found the places where we hide the dogs' biscuits and proceeded to give them a whole box to feast on. This is just a sample of why we call her Curious George.
Michaela has big time "Mommy issues." The other 2 had this, but NOT THIS BAD! I joke that she longs for her umbilical cord to return. There are times when she throws herself on the floor in a fit if I leave the room. She also addresses me not as Mommy, but as MOMMY!MOMMY!MOMMY! God forbid if I fail to answer in the allotted 1 second time limit!
Michaela is very loving and very affectionate. She also enjoys the world around her. We look forward to see her grow and mature and are curious as to what things will interest her. We thank God every day for bringing her into our lives.
